Caraiosa Centre - Come to the centre of Ireland..Come to the centre of yourself..
Caraiosa News
2009 was a busy year for us. We saw our building and refurbishment come to completion in September after many months of work and planning. Thanks to Eamonn and all the lads for a job well done. You were great to work with--not too many tantrums and tears and I think you all discoverred your creative, artistic side!!

October saw the launch of our website, thanks to Brendan for the photography and to Brenda for your web design.

Our first guests stayed before Christmas and the weather obliged by covering everything with a frosting of ice, turning the landscape into a winter wonderland (little did we know it was the beginning of many weeks of frost and snow all over Ireland).

On New Years Eve, we invited friends and neighbours to a Threshold Ceremony, where we said goodbye to 2009 and welcomed in 2010, let go of the past ritualistically in the fire and lit the New year candle as a sign of light and hope for the future. We hope to make this an annual event.

Our day of reflection on Lent, held in March, gave the opportunity to stop and look at where we are on our spiritual journey and where we are going. A gentle, restful day was had by all.

Our two day card making and crafting course proved very popular, however there were some disappointed guests who couldn't join us as the course was held mid-week. Our next Card -Making Course will be a weekend event. Contact us to put your name on the mailing/waiting list. Don't be disappointed this time!
Here are some of the cards that our guests made during the 2 days with Brenda of Chambers Card Craft.....

Holy Week was a quiet prayerful time.
Thank you to all who joined us to Watch One Hour and reflect on Gethsemane,on Holy Thursday,
and for your gentle presence for Prayer Around the Cross on Good Friday evening.

We are pleased to report that the Easter Bunny passed by distributing little Easter eggs to our guests on Sunday morning!!

Our Day for yourself in Spring was an opportunity to take time out and explore the world around us through our senses. Springtime is a feast for the senses with birdsong, emerging flowers, the warmth of the sun and the many scents and textures that abound in the countryside.
The Bealtaine festival heralded the start of summer. The Festival of the Fires, with the lighting of the Bealtaine fire on the Hill of Uisneach, was a spectacular event.
In June we held a Day for yourself in summer, an opportunity to relax and appreciate the fullness of growth in this season of plenty.
